Identity’s Youth Summit meets virtually this fall to inspire, connect and empower.

Who: Queer youth and allies in Alaska (some sessions are all ages; some sessions have an age suggestion of 13-18)

LGBTQ+ Fall Youth Summit Schedule

Let’s Talk Gender & Sexuality
6-7:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 5
A kick-off discussion of LGBTQ+ identities. No prior knowledge needed. Come learn about yourself, share your knowledge, and find community. We’ll talk about youth leadership opportunities and how to get involved. All ages

Trans & Gender Expansive Journeys
6-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 6
What is the trans umbrella and who is a part of it? Let’s explore all the trans and non-binary identities. Come with questions to ask and stories to share. All ages

Queer Enough: Being LGBTQ+ and Belonging
6-7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 7
Have you ever questioned if you belong in a space? Let’s talk about dealing with the inner (and outer) voices that challenge our sense of belonging. All ages.

LGBTQ+ Youth Confronting Racism
6-7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 8
How is who we are informed by race and ethnicity? Together, we can build an inclusive queer community and QTPOC spaces. Ages 13-18

Sexual Health & Body Positivity
6-7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9
Learn about local physical and mental health resources for queer youth, while discussing body positive within the LGBTQ+ community. Ages 13-18

Friday Night, Movie Night
7-9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9
Grab snacks, put on some comfy clothes, and let’s watch a movie together. A Netflix account is required to join the watchparty; new users sign up free for 30 days. Family Brunch
10 .m.-noon Saturday, Oct. 10
Bring your questions and stories to this community conversation about supporting the LGBTQ+ people in our lives. Eating food during this session is encouraged. All ages

National Coming Out Day Open Mic
2-4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 11
Share your story! Spoken word, dance, drag, stories, singing, painting, drawing, and all other methods of sharing your story are welcome. The zoom space is open from 1 to 2 p.m. for us to support each other before the open mic, to prepare for sharing, and to ask any technical questions. If you prefer to submit an art piece electronically, which we will stream during the event, email All ages

Please note suggested ages for each session. Ages 12 or younger should be accompanied by a caring adult. 

Sessions are open to everyone. As our goal is to empower youth, we will give priority to queer and questioning youth for air space and talking time. We will make space for allies to ask questions and participate at end of sessions and in other ways. Thank you!
