Gen Silent Film Screening

September 4 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Free, donations for filmmakers encouraged

“The generation that fought hardest to come out, is going back in – to survive.”

Join us for a screening of the groundbreaking documentary, Gen Silent.

This award-winning film follows LGBTQ elders as they navigate a long-term care system that isn’t always accepting.

After the screening there will be a discussion and Q&A with the filmmaker, Stu Maddux; Phyllis Rhodes, aGen Silent screen capture of elder gay couple member of the SAGE steering committee; and AARP Alaska State President, Madeline G. Holdorf.

This screening is co-presented by SAGE Alaska, a program of Identity, & UAA Center for Human Development’s Alaska Training Cooperative.

During the event the filmmakers will premier exclusive content and discuss their upcoming film, All The Lonely People. This film examines the growing epidemic of isolation and loneliness. Much of this film was shot in Alaska and was made possible with the support of the Alaska community!
