Free Screening – “Real Boy”
June 14, 2017 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Join Alaska Public Media and Identity, Inc. for a free screening of Real Boy, a moving and intimate story of a family in transition. Filmed over the course of four years, Real Boy is a love story about a mother and son who rediscover connection with each other and find support from their communities, reminding us that families are not only given, but chosen.
After the film, we welcome attendees to keep the conversation going. Led by a facilitator, small groups will discuss themes from the film. Participants can choose to use the Story Corps app to record their conversations and upload them to the Story Corps archive. Story Corps’ mission is to preserve and share humanity’s stories in order to build connections between people and create a more just and compassionate world.
