Speaking Out Against Hate
As part of Anchorage’s Welcoming Week 2019, the United States Department of Justice, Community Relations Service will be facilitating a hate crimes forum from 1 to 5 pm on Saturday, September 21 at the Loussac Library.
This is a free forum for all diverse communities, faith-based groups, non-profit organizations and LGBTQ+ individuals.

Sing Out Anchorage
Become a member of Sing Out Anchorage, Anchorage’s first LGBTQ+ choir!
Sing Out Anchorage is an inclusive ensemble that seeks to elevate, inspire, and educate the Anchorage community through song. Sing Out provides a creative platform for adult members and friends of the LGBTQ+ community to share their collective voice through the art of choral music. Learn More.
You don’t need musical experience and a formal audition is not required to join the choir. Join us at one of our open house events or just show up at rehearsal to learn more about the ensemble, meet the artistic director, and find out how you can become a member.

Anchorage Transgender Community Meetings
This group is open to adults who identity as transgender, gender nonconforming, or gender fluid with the purpose and intention to build community and network with other individuals. The group is facilitated by Samuel Ohana, with guest facilitators to cover different topics.
Parents & Guardians of LGBTQ+ Children
Identity began a new support group here at the Identity Center focusing on connecting the Parents and Guardians of LGBTQ+ identified children/people.
Purpose: To offer a monthly meeting place/support group to celebrate, discuss issues (positive and negative) and offer advice for parents who are raising LGBTQ+ children in Anchorage.

When: The 3rd Wednesday of each month 6:30 – 7:30 pm
Transparents is a social/educational support group for parents, family members or guardians of transgender/genderqueer youth and young adults. As many of us know when someone comes out in our lives their entire community comes out with them. This group aims to provide social and educational support to any adults who have a young person who recently came out or is actively exploring their Gender Identity. There are also opportunities to get involved in working with other parents and school officials in better understand the needs of parents and guardians with Trans youth in their lives.
Transparents will meet the second Wednesday of the month from 6:00-7:00 pm.
The rainbow club is a social support group for LGBTQ+ adults 18 and up, who experience intellectual or development
The Rainbow Club will meet the first Tuesday of the month from 6:30-8pm.
SAGE Alaska is the newest program of Identity. This statewide organization will provide opportunities for older LGBT adults to form and strengthen meaningful relationships, identify and utilize trusted vendors and service providers, find support and encouragement when needed, and learn about available resources.
Identity is a statewide LGBT organization founded in 1977 as a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation and based in Anchorage, Alaska.
